Muzika

(Music)

Work in progress

The composition “Muzika” grew organically from R. Zdanavičius’s exhibition cycle “Hello, Maestro Pranciškus Smuglevičius”. The curved canvas forms recall the baroque of Vilnius, while the vortex of figures required a counterbalance — found in music. Inspired by Smuglevičius’s Roman period (1763–1784), the painting reflects the Enlightenment’s world of harmony, order, and divine mathematics. Musical notes permeate the figures, creating an endless web — a rhythm of time and space that draws everything together.
